Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that your body already produces. Hyaluronic acid encourages your cells to hold onto water, giving you a hydrated, plump, and youthful look. Dr. Bokhari injects dermal fillers into the treatment areas using very fine needles. The fillers contain lidocaine, which acts as a local anesthetic, but you will feel a pinprick. On request, you can also receive a topical numbing cream or ice to alleviate discomfort from the injections; no anesthesia is required. Treatment takes about 20 minutes.

 Dermal filler injections are considered a minor cosmetic procedure. They usually have a downtime of 24-48 hours. You may have a little bruising, swelling, or redness following the injections. Swelling, itching, and the feeling of hard lumps at the injection sites is also possible.  

 It is recommended that you refrain from consuming alcohol, strenuous exercise, or exposure to direct sunlight in the week or two following treatment. You can reduce discomfort, swelling, and redness with the application of an ice pack.
